چکیده

JANSEN, B. C., 1971. The quantitative determination of the toxic factors produced by Clostridium botulinum types C and D. Onderstepoort f. vet. Res., 38 (3), 177180 (1971). The Lf values of the C, C2 and D factors produced by Clostridium botulinum types C and D were compared with the results of in vivo quantitative tests. It was found that the flocculation test is a rel iable method of determining these antigens quantitatively.

Botulinum Neurotoxin: Advances in Diagnostics and Healthcare Applications

Botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT) is the most acutely toxic substance produced by a gram-positive, rodshaped bacterium called Clostridium botulinum [1, 2]. It is a 150 kDa protein comprising of a 100 kDa heavy chain that is joined to a 50 kDa light chain by a disulfide bond. The light chain of BoNT is a protease, which attacks the SNARE protein at a neuromuscular junction, thereby preventing the vesi...

کلونینگ، بیان و تخلیص پروتئین SNAP-25

Background & Objectives:Clostridial neurotoxin inhibits neurotransmitter release by selective and specific intracellular proteolysis of synaptosomal associated protein of 25KDa (SNAP-25), synaptobrevin/VAMP-2 and syntaxin. SNAP-25 is one of the components that forms docking complex in synaptic ends. This protein is subtrate for botulinum neurotoxins types A,C, and E. Each of these toxin serotyp...

Monitoring the Various Types of Clostridium botulinumin in Four Kinds of Food Stuffs Using Multiplex PCR

Background &Objective: Food poisoning (FP) caused by C. botulinum is the most serious feature of FP inpeople consuming the contaminated foodstuffs (Canned meat, vegetarian foods, dairy products and seafood products). Botulism is basically detected by the identification of live bacteria and/or its toxins. Among various types of microorganisms (i.e. A, B, C1, C2, D, E, F), serotypes A, B, E and F...

Characterization of Clostridium botulinum spores and its toxin in honey

Botulism is a serious paralytic disease caused by Clostridium botulinum toxin in foods. There are seven recognized serotypes of botulinum neurotoxins among which the principal prevalent types in humans include A, B and E. Infant botulism results from intestinal colonization and toxin production by C. botulinum spores in babies less than 1 year old. Honey is the most important food discriminated...
